Our new 10,000 square foot training center is equipped with the latest flexo equipment and products. Not only do we have the latest technology, we have the help of some of the flexo industry's top Vendors that provide us with their expertise knowledge.

Introduction to Flexography Class

This is an intensive 2-day hands-on training class providing an overview of the Flexographic printing process.  Students will receive hands-on instruction in the     basic techniques of Narrow-Web production.  Class size is limited to 8 students. The class is designed specifically for the Narrow-Web Flexographic Industry.  Curriculum includes pre-press, plate mounting, ink handling, anilox management, press set-up, die cutting and printing.  

All employees who are new to Flexo should attend.  In addition, any employee who does not have Flexo production experience should consider this unique seminar.  This includes Customer Service, Sales, Management and Financial personnel.  

Our Introduction to Flexography training class is held Thursday and Friday from 8:30-4:00pm

Advanced Prepress Course

This 3-day intensive training course is designed for experienced prepress operators who are interested in learning the techniques necessary to produce high quality flexographic color separations. Through discussions and hands on training attendees will learn press fingerprinting and optimization, digital plate making, image manipulation and file preparation, using the latest digital prepress technology. They will also have an opportunity to spend time out at the press where they can see the results of their class project. Those attending must have prior prepress experience and a solid working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop.

4 and 6 week Intensive Press Operator Training

We offer a 4 and 6 week "intensive" training class designed to quickly train personnel on running a flexo press.

This class is setup for training personnel that meet the following criteria:

• Press Helpers looking to become a press operator
  
  
• Press Operators that have been operating a press for less than 2 years and need to improve their  productivity.
  
  
• Offset operators that are getting into flexo printing.

Persons attending this training will learn the same skills as the students attending our 3-month course, only in a shorter period of time.

This class runs as follows:

Monday through Friday 8:00am through 4:00pm

12 Week Press Operator Training

Do you need a press operator and think someone already employed at you company would be perfect, but just needs the training? Or would you like to hire someone from your area and then train them as a press operator?

Then send them to us for our 3-month (12 weeks) training program, below is some information about this course......

What You Will Learn In Our 3-Month Training: 

What make FTS unique is that you will be trained running live orders that have been given to us by our member flexo printing companies (the same companies who will be interested in hiring you). So you'll get more than training at FTS, you get "experience!" During 12 weeks of training, you'll be assisting with, then actually running the press, producing flexographic printed packaging label products (some of which you may see in grocery stores or other retail outlets). This involves setting up and actually running a state-of-the-art eight color press and other label converting equipment for over 200 hours.

Classes Start Every Monday: 

The class runs Monday thru Thursday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Class size averages six to seven students on a rotating admission schedule so that most every week we have new students entering the program. In this way, our senior students are provided the opportunity to take on a coaching-leadership role in certain areas, becoming teacher/students to the newcomers of the trade. This both enhances their learning experience (true teachers always have to be the best students) and provides new folks more one-on-one assistance and redundancy instruction of the basics.

PrePress 16 Week Training

The Flexographic Trade School offers a 4-month (16 week) hands-on Flexographic Press Operator training program. 

Each student will be required to pass both academic, as well as production requirements before graduating and receiving the benefits and assistance that go along with it. Each student will also have to complete a minimum of 460 hours of training, a written test and hands-on exam. 

Upon graduation all students are given the benefit of having FTS there for them through out their careers. Each student can contact FTS whenever they need technical support, extra training, etc.  We will also help them find a job whenever needed.  The only stipulation to this is that when they take a job they must commit to 2 years with that company.  If after that 2 years the student wants to leave that company we will help them find another job, as well as help that member company find another employee.

The class allows for up to 4 students, this guarantees that the student gets quality training. The class will run as follows:

Monday – Friday  9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Print Optimization 4-Day Training

The Print Optimization Program is a 4-day, hands-on course designed to give experienced prepress and print personnel the tools they need to gain control of print process from monitor calibration through die cutting.

Custom Training

We will customize a training program specifically for you.  This program is held at the school for up to 8 people at a time.  The program will be a 2 or 3-day program based on the needs of the company, just give us a call and we will design a training class just for you.

Onsite Training

Need a group of employees trained, but can't send them all at once to our facility?  We do onsite training, just give us a call.

Video Training:

FTS offers a great 6 Volume DVD video training program called "Bring The Training To You". These videos provide a great introduction to flexo, covering all the language of flexo – specifically label converting… from rewind directions to proper handling of stocks and the proper wrapping of a pallet
